Greetings Emmaus Community
Oh what a wonderful evening of praise and worship as only the Emmaus community can do it. I love you guys.
Thanks to Owen Lofton and Ian White for the Spirit filled praises. Guys you are AWESOME. I am looking forward to the next time you will play for us. Can’t wait. Thank you Robert Webb for you 4th Day Talk. I always know that the spirit will be with us as you speak your heartfelt words. Great Job.
As I listen to myself and to other Christians, I notice that after some years of following Jesus we tend to suffer from various symptoms of drifting away. When we were young in our faith, we were eager to give sacrificially of our time and resources to alleviate the pains of the poor; we were eager to take time for daily readings of the scripture and prayer. We would plow through snow up to our belt buckles to get to church on Sunday. Then, after some years, we began to drift away from the spiritual disciplines that sustained us in the earlier times.
How do we stay in the Spirit and not get the spiritual rigor mortis? Be careful how you live, not unwise people but as wise, making the most of the time, because the days are evil. So do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. Be filled with the Spirit, as you sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, giving thanks to God the Father at all times and for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Eph. 4:14-20)
